One thing you need to know is how you don’t have to be perfect to succeed. Whoever gave you that idea? Did you know this perfectionism is a trauma response to being criticized for who you really were as a child? It is not something to be proud of.
And of course I’m not judging. Not me - I know what its like to be so deeply judged you can not trust another person to really see you.. To know that if they do then they will no longer like you..
Even to feel like the instant someone meets you, for some reason they just won’t like you and will reject you.. And you may be shocked to hear that many amazing high level women who others look up and and see as a wonder woman still feel this way!
So it’s ok. Give yourself grace - but do understand that your need to get it all perfect to the point of agonizing insecurity within is not helping you be better. It’s actually stopping the flow of your true brilliance.
What IF Life didn’t have to be this hard? And yes there will always be challenges - but I can tell you - once you let go of the need to put on this façade so people won’t judge you (and so you won’t judge you) then things get easier. Way more fun! Way more flow! Way more beneficial for everyone involved.
So what is it you’ve been hiding behind, trying to pretend is perfect, when deep inside you feel like this is yet another thing that can’t be good enough as it is… That you’re missing something when everyone else seems to know.
Well first of all, as I said - you are not alone in this. But mostly - the only thing you’re missing out on is that its OK to be your true self!
So if you take one thing out of this today - it is to let yourself practice and experiment. Let yourself get things wrong and realize the world won’t end. Discover who you really are and how YOU want to do it - then follow that only!
And of course remember:
It is better done than perfect!
Get it done, look over it once then get it OUT.
This way you wont deplete your energy. You may cringe at some mistakes - but at least you are actually creating and succeeding instead of doing busy work that digs you a hole. You are meant to be flying high on your creations. Let it OUT! And let it be easy
